Beau Coup | 9:45 – 11pm

Beau Coup is one of the most beloved Cleveland rock bands of all time. Their iconic smash single, “Born & Raised (on Rock & Roll)” is considered by many to be the anthem for Cleveland rock & roll.

Beau Coup began in 1983 when vocalist Tommy Amato started recording songs at Agency Recording located upstairs from the Cleveland Agora with drummer Eric Singer (KISS) and guitarist Mike McGill. On one particular night, Tommy and Agora owner, Hank LoConti Sr, saw keyboardist Dennis Lewin playing and invited him to take a listen to the project they were working on. Dennis loved what he heard and expressed interest in joining the group as keyboardist. Tommy’s brother Frank Amato also liked what he heard and soon joined along with bass player Bill March.

Dennis had written a batch of songs by this point including “Still In My Heart” and “Somewhere Out In The Night”. With help from Hank LoConti.Sr. and the Agora Records label, Beau Coup put together an EP of 5 songs and released “Still In My Heart” as the first single. With heavy rotation from 98.5 FM WGCL, “Still In My Heart” was a top 10 record drawing interest from CBS/Scotti Brothers Records.

Their first attempt at a record deal came when Carl Maduri Management signed Beau Coup to Rock and Roll Records, a division of CBS/Scotti Brothers Records which included artists such as Survivor, John Cafferty & The Beaver Brown Band, James Brown, and “Weird Al” Yankovic. An album was recorded but never released.

In 1986, record promoter Mike Mannochio signed on to become Beau Coup’s next manager and successfully landed a deal with Amherst/A&M Records. Their “Born and Raised (on Rock and Roll)” album, CD, and cassette were released to national and international acclaim. “Born and Raised (on Rock and Roll)”, “Still In My Heart”, “Somewhere Out In The Night”, and “Sweet Rachel” were all staples of Cleveland rock radio during the mid to late 80’s with WGCL and WMMS 100.7 FM playing this collection of hit songs in heavy rotation. With stations like WMMS, (voted the #1 rock station in America led by John Gorman) supporting the band, Beau Coup’s star was on the rise. All four singles reached the local, national, and international charts including Billboard Hot 100. In 1987, “Sweet Rachel” hit the mid 50’s on Billboard Hot 100 accompanied by a video that aired on many national and international video channels including MTV and USA Video Hits. They’ve shared the stage with acts such as Bon Jovi, Night Ranger, Kenny Loggins. John Waite, Thompson Twins, Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, and Todd Rundgren & Utopia to name a few.

The band continues to write, record, and perform for enthusiast crowds to this day. With the resurgence of 1980’s-era pop/rock music, Beau Coup continues to grow their fan base to a younger generation. The lineup which includes; Frank Amato (Lead Vocals), Tommy Amato (Lead Vocals), Dennis Lewin (Keyboards), Bill March (Bass/Vocals), Don Krueger (Drums/Vocals), and current Taylor Swift lead guitarist, Paul Sidoti (Guitars/Vocals), they’ll be sure to make your event a great one filled with fun, excitement, and memorable songs.
